About Me —

Horses, to me, represent the epitome of unrestricted trust, partnership and deeply rooted relationships. For them to allow me, often a complete stranger to them, to enter their space is truly a privilege. For them to allow me access to their bodies, their pain, tension and imbalances, and to trust me to help them is humbling. They remind me when I am rushed in my day, and they demand grounded and centered energy. They are constantly communicating — from an ear flick, a set of the eye, their head position, a cocked leg — they tell me who they are. I learn from each interaction, each response, and yes, each time I misunderstand and get a quick nip or a stern tail swish.

I also consider it a privilege to share what I have learned with the owners. The people who are called to own and care for horses (really, any animal) often do so with everything they have. They truly want what is best for their horses, and massage is a way for them to better understand what is going on with their horse. I absolutely love sharing how to massage different areas of their horse that will enhance their connection and expand their willing partnership.

I am grateful that my horse, Sherman, is a patient soul, and knew how to amplify his needs when I didn’t know how to listen. Like so many owners, I had a plan and goals, and I would come to the barn ready to execute and achieve. Sherman was willing, but he needed something else from me. It wasn’t until I enlisted the help of a massage therapist, who was to become my mentor and friend, that I realized that I was causing all the outward behavior I was trying to fix.

I would love to have the privilege of working on your horse, and to help foster relaxation, comfort and willingness within them. I would love to hear from you and explore how I can help you both.
